The NYC Delivery Guide

What actually slows down a New York City delivery isn't the drive — it's the rules at the curb and the dock. Here's the field guide our dispatch desk works from.

Loading & delivery windows

Most Manhattan commercial districts restrict truck loading to early-morning windows; many buildings only accept freight 7–11 AM. Below 60th Street, expect tighter enforcement and shorter dwell time at the curb.

DOT congestion & truck routes

NYC designates through- and local-truck routes; off-route travel risks summonses. The Manhattan congestion-pricing zone (below 60th St) adds a daytime toll — factor it into delivery timing and cost.

Building COI requirements

Class-A buildings and trade centers require a certificate of insurance naming the building and managing agent as additional insureds, filed in advance. Same-day COIs are rarely accepted — submit 48+ hours ahead.

General guidance, not legal advice. Rules change — confirm current NYC DOT and building requirements for your specific address.
